Page Inspector

When Appilot is not behaving as expected on a page, the Page Inspector shows you what Appilot is seeing. It is a self-service diagnostics tab for end users, plus a deeper technical view for the Appilot team and advanced users.

How to enable it​

  1. Open the Appilot extension.
  2. Click the menu icon, then Settings.
  3. Toggle Show Page Inspector on. A new Page Inspector entry appears in the menu.

You can turn the toggle off at any time. The tab disappears immediately and your other settings remain unchanged.

Reading the summary​

The top of the Page Inspector tab is a plain-language summary card with four pieces of information:

  • A status pill telling you whether Appilot is ready, partially configured, not configured yet, or offline.
  • A detection count of forms, fields, and actionable controls Appilot found on the page.
  • The active view Appilot identified, or "not identified" if it could not match the page to a known view.
  • A Report a page issue button that opens the feedback flow with the current page context attached, so the support team can reproduce what you saw.

Reporting an issue​

Use the Report a page issue button whenever something looks wrong: missing forms, wrong active view, or a confused assistant. The report includes the page URL, the detected view, and the raw page context Appilot built. No extra typing required from you.

Advanced details​

The Advanced details (technical) disclosure at the bottom of the tab unlocks the raw resolver diagnostics, detection trace, adapter configuration, and a "copy page context as JSON" button. Most users will never need this section. It is intended for working with the Appilot team during a support session, or for power users investigating how Appilot identifies elements on the page.
