Organization Coverage Policies
Coverage policies determine how your organization pays for AI usage across your team and external users.
Coverage Types
Managed Only
Only users who are invited members of your organization have their usage covered. External visitors interacting with your widget are not covered.
Public
Any user interacting with your application — whether through the embedded widget or the Chrome Extension on your domains — has their usage covered by the organization.
Configuration
Coverage policies can be managed from two places:
- Backoffice — Organization admins can configure coverage via the Credits & Usage page at
/credits - Platform Admin — Super admins can configure coverage for any organization
In either interface, the following settings are available:
- Coverage Type: Managed Only or Public
- Covers Extension: Whether the Chrome Extension usage is covered
- Covers Widget: Whether the embedded widget usage is covered
- Domain Allowlist: Specific domains where coverage applies (e.g.,
*.yourapp.com) - Per-User Credit Cap: Maximum credits any single user can consume per billing period
- Per-Session Limit: Maximum credits per anonymous session (for public coverage)
When a B2B plan is assigned to an organization, a default coverage policy is created automatically with managed-only coverage and both extension and widget coverage enabled.
Per-User Credit Caps
Organization admins can set per-user credit caps to control individual consumption:
- Go to Credits & Usage (
/credits) in the Backoffice - Set the Per-User Credit Cap (e.g., 50 credits/month)
- When a user reaches their cap, the extension displays a specific message: "You've reached your personal credit limit for this period"
This prevents any single user from consuming a disproportionate share of the organization's credit budget.
How Billing Works
- All usage by covered users charges to the organization's credit balance
- Widget usage always charges to the organization (via the API key)
- Extension usage charges to the organization only if
covers_extensionis enabled - If the organization runs out of credits, the widget shows "temporarily unavailable"
