Getting Started

Appilot helps you complete complex web tasks by providing intelligent, context-aware assistance directly on the page you're working on.

Step 1: Install the Extension​

From Chrome Web Store​

  1. Visit the Appilot Chrome Extension page
  2. Click Add to Chrome
  3. Confirm the installation when prompted

Manual installation​

If your organization provides a direct download:

  1. Download the .zip file from appilot.com
  2. Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions
  3. Enable Developer mode (toggle in top right)
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the extracted folder

Step 2: Sign in​

  1. Click the Appilot floating button that appears on any webpage (bottom-right corner)
  2. The side panel opens — click Sign In
  3. Enter your email and password (provided by your organization or created at appilot.com)
  4. Once signed in, the assistant is ready to help

Step 3: Ask your first question​

Navigate to any web page and open the Appilot panel. Try asking:

  • "What should I enter in this form?"
  • "What does this field mean?"
  • "How do I complete this process?"

Appilot reads the page context — forms, fields, labels, navigation — and provides answers based on your organization's knowledge base.

What happens behind the scenes​

When you interact with Appilot:

  1. The extension captures the page context (forms, fields, page structure) — no personal data
  2. Your question + context is sent to the Appilot backend
  3. The AI finds relevant knowledge from your organization's knowledge base and uploaded documents
  4. You receive a grounded, contextual answer — not a generic AI response
